Product Information

Stainless Works builds this as a full header-back package for the 2011-2014 Ford F-150 Raptor's 6.2L SuperCrew, not just a set of tube headers. Primaries, collectors, lead pipes, hi flow metal matrix cats, and the Y-pipe are all in the one box, sold and matched as a system instead of parts you piece together from different vendors. It reconnects at the factory connection point, so whatever the truck runs downstream of the Y-pipe still bolts up where the stock exhaust did.

Why Upgrade

Per Stainless Works, here's what buying it as one system gets you:

  • Headers, cats, and Y-pipe are sized and matched to bolt to each other, so you are not trying to marry a header from one shelf to a cat from another and hoping the flanges line up.
  • Clamps are included, so you are not making a parts store run mid-install once the truck is already up on stands.
  • The system stays catted with hi flow metal matrix converters, so a full header swap does not turn into stripping the emissions equipment off the truck.
  • The Y-pipe reconnects at the factory connection point, so your downstream setup, stock or aftermarket, still has a place to bolt up.

Fitment Notes

Fits 2011-2014 Ford F-150, Base and Raptor trims. [VERIFY: the listing title says "2010-14" while our fitment data and Stainless Works' own listing both start at 2011, and whether this header's 6.2L build fits every F-150 Base-trim engine in the 2011-2014 range or only 6.2L-equipped trucks.]

Install and Honest Talk

This assembly ties in at the factory connection point on the SuperCrew Raptor, so what's downstream of the Y-pipe connects where the stock system did, but everything ahead of that point, manifolds, primaries, collectors, and cats, comes off and gets replaced. Swapping the factory manifolds for tube headers changes the exhaust note, and that note carries into the cabin, especially at highway speed. Stainless Works' listing doesn't say what tools, lift time, or extra hardware the swap takes, or whether longer studs or a re-torque are needed, so check the instructions in the box before you start. Check your local emissions laws before you buy. What else you need: [VERIFY: supporting parts, hardware in the box, tune requirement, exact noise level, drivability impact, and effect on the factory powertrain warranty.]

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
