Product Information

H&R Super Sport Springs for the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang. They take the car lower than H&R's Sport Springs and pull the center of gravity down with it, which is where the handling gain comes from. Progressive springs, so the extra drop is not meant to cost you ride comfort.

Why Upgrade to Super Sport Springs

Per H&R, here is what the Super Sport set changes:

  • More drop than the Sport Springs. Same features as the Sport set, plus additional lowering for the enthusiast who wants a little more.
  • A lower center of gravity, so the car handles better than it does at stock height.
  • Progressive spring design that keeps ride comfort, so the lower car does not have to ride like a race car.
  • The lowered performance stance. The visual side of the upgrade, and the part you see every time you walk up to the car.

Fitment Notes

Our fitment data lists this spring set for the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang: GT, GT500, V6, and Boss 302 (2012-2013). No exclusions are on file, so anything outside those years and trims is unconfirmed.

Install and Honest Talk

This is a spring swap: the springs on the car come out and these go in. H&R does not spell out the steps, so plan the job around your own shop manual and torque specs rather than guessing. Once it is on, you will notice the drop before you notice anything else, and a lower car means paying attention to steep driveways, speed bumps and parking blocks. Lowering also closes up the fender gap, so if you run wider wheels or tires, check clearance at the new height. H&R says ride comfort is retained. That is the brand's claim, and how it feels on your car depends on what shocks and tires it is riding on.

No Robots. Just Car People.

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
