Product Information

FOX Performance Elite Series 2.5 Reservoir rear shocks for the 2021-2026 Ford F-150, built for 4WD trucks running 0 to 1.5 inches of lift. The job: an oversized, adjustable shock that FOX says adds strength, control and wheel travel, and lets you dial the damping for the terrain, the load and the speed you are running.

Why Upgrade to a Reservoir Shock

Per FOX, here is what the Performance Elite changes:

  • More control when the trail gets fast: the larger aluminum body sheds heat more efficiently, and the extra internal oil volume works with race-developed high-flow pistons so the damping keeps doing its job instead of fading.
  • Longer wheel travel and more strength from an oversized shock engineered for this truck, so the rear axle can move further before it runs out of shock.
  • A 7/8 inch hard chromed shaft and a redundant seal pack, designed for harsh environments and extreme conditions. Mud, dust and rock are the use case, not the exception.
  • Adjustable for terrain, load and speed. Firm it up with a loaded bed, back it off for a rough road. FOX calls this the widest range of adjustability it offers.
  • Fully serviceable, so it is a shock you rebuild when it finally needs attention rather than throw away.

Fitment Notes

Fits 2021-2026 Ford F-150 in Base, Raptor and Tremor trims. The part name specifies 4WD trucks with 0 to 1.5 inches of lift, so match your lift height before you order. Does not fit the F-150 Lightning or the Raptor R. [VERIFY: 2WD fitment, and fitment on trucks lifted beyond 1.5 inches.]

Install and Honest Talk

This is the rear shock for the truck. What comes off, what stays, and what tools or a lift the job takes are not spelled out here, so read the included instructions before you start. What else you need: [VERIFY: hardware in the box, mounting bolts and torque specs, reservoir mounting and clearance, and matching front shocks.]

Honest talk: the adjustability is the whole point, and it is only worth having if you actually adjust it. Leave it set for an empty bed and load the truck up, or the other way round, and you will feel the mismatch in the ride. Fully serviceable also means this is a part you maintain over its life, not one you bolt on and forget. And the lift range is not a suggestion: this shock is built for 0 to 1.5 inches, so if your truck sits higher than that, it is the wrong part. What you should notice afterwards, per FOX, is control: the rear stays composed over ground that would have had a stock truck bouncing.

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
