Product Information

A FOX rear shock for the 2025 Ford F-150, built for a truck already sitting on a 4-6 in. lift. It is oversized, adjustable and rebuildable, meant for hard use off pavement. FOX says the extra body size, oil volume and adjustment range are where it earns its keep.

Why Upgrade to a FOX Performance Shock

Per FOX, here is what this shock changes:

  • The larger aluminum body sheds heat more efficiently, and the increased internal oil volume gives the race-developed high-flow pistons more to work with, so the shock keeps its control as heat builds on a long rough stretch.
  • Extended wheel travel, engineered for this truck. FOX does not put a number on it, so read "extended" as the brand's word rather than a measured figure, and expect the difference where the ground gets rough, not on the commute.
  • A 7/8 in. hard chromed shaft and a redundant seal pack, meaning more than one seal between the oil and the outside. It was built for harsh environments and extreme conditions. If your truck never leaves pavement, that is money spent on abuse it will never see.
  • Fully serviceable. When the damping wears years in, it gets rebuilt rather than replaced, and FOX rates it for a lifetime of use.
  • The widest range of adjustability in the FOX lineup, by its own description. Set it for terrain, load and speed instead of living with one fixed setting.

Fitment Notes

This shock fits the 2025 Ford F-150 in Base, Lightning, Raptor and Tremor trims. Does not fit the F-150 Raptor R. It is a rear shock and the title calls for a 4-6 in. lift, so it is not a part for a stock-height truck. [VERIFY: the title reads 2017+ Ford Super Duty while our fitment data files it under the 2025 F-150, and the title says 2.5 Performance Series where the description says Performance Elite.]

Install and Honest Talk

FOX's write-up covers the hardware, not the install. What comes off the truck, whether the factory hardware is reused, and how the piggyback reservoir mounts at the rear are not spelled out. Confirm those with FOX before you order. Adjustable means you do the adjusting. FOX built this to be set for terrain, load and speed. Plan on time spent dialing it in, not a bolt-on-and-forget job. A mis-set shock feels wrong until you sort it. Fully serviceable also means it is a shock that expects to be serviced, not one you fit and ignore for the life of the truck. What else you need: [VERIFY: a 4-6 in. lift already on the truck, contents of the box, whether instructions are included, install steps and hardware reuse, bolt torque and rear clearance.]

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
