Product Information

Front shock for the 2025 Ford F-150 running a 4-6 inch lift, FOX part 883-26-099. It is an oversized 2.5 smooth body piggyback DSC shock, and the job is control and extended wheel travel, with adjustment for terrain, load and speed so the truck stays settled on whatever you point it at.

Why Upgrade to an Oversized Adjustable Front Shock

Per FOX, here is what this shock changes:

  • The larger aluminum body sheds heat more efficiently, and the extra internal oil volume gives the race-developed high-flow pistons more to work with, so the shock keeps controlling the truck when the trail gets long and rough.
  • Oversized construction adds strength and extends wheel travel, engineered for this vehicle, so the front end has more room to soak up terrain instead of running out of stroke.
  • A 7/8 inch hard chromed shock shaft and a redundant seal pack are designed for harsh environments and extreme conditions, so grit and water are a planned-for problem rather than a surprise.
  • Adjustment for terrain, load and speed means you set the shock for the trip you are on, loaded or empty, slow crawl or fast dirt, and stay in control.
  • Fully serviceable, built for a lifetime of use.

Fitment Notes

Our fitment data lists this shock for the 2025 Ford F-150 in Base, Lightning, Raptor and Tremor trims. Does not fit the F-150 Raptor R. [VERIFY: the part title says 2017+ Ford Super Duty with a 4-6 inch lift while our fitment data says 2025 F-150, so confirm the actual application, that the Lightning listing is right, and that your truck sits in the 4-6 inch lift range before you order.]

Install and Honest Talk

This is the front shock, sold for a truck on a 4-6 inch lift. That is the first honest caveat: it is built around that lift height, so if your truck is at a different ride height, sort out the fit before the box shows up. The second is the adjustment. A shock with settings for terrain, load and speed rides the way you set it, which means you have to do the setting. Read the included instructions for the DSC adjustment and expect to spend some time tuning it on the road and on the dirt before it feels right. And it is a big-body piggyback shock with a service-and-rebuild design, which is more shock, more money and more to learn than a plain sealed replacement.

What else you need: [VERIFY: whether the box holds one shock or a pair, hardware in the box, mounting bolts and torque specs, clearance for the oversized body and piggyback at 4-6 inches of lift, and whether the rest of the lift is sold separately.] Check the included instructions for what comes off the truck and what hardware is reused.

No Robots. Just Car People.

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
