Product Information

A rear shock set for the 2011-2020 Ford F-150 and Raptor, sized for trucks sitting anywhere from stock height to 1.5 in. of lift. It swaps the rear shocks for FOX 2.5 Factory Series dampers with a 2.5-inch aluminum body, a reservoir, and Dual Speed Compression adjustment you can dial in yourself. The job: keep the rear end controlled off road without giving up the ability to tune it for how you load and drive the truck.

Why Upgrade to 2.5 Factory Series Rear Shocks

Per FOX, here is what these shocks change:

  • Internal bypass lets oil flow around the piston at some points of the stroke and builds heavy pressure at others, so the shock feels like it has far more travel than the numbers say when the trail gets rough.
  • Dual Speed Compression adjustment works with the race-developed piston and the internal bypass to make a ride zone you tune for the weight you carry, the terrain you run and the speed you run it at.
  • The 2.5-inch aluminum body is built for hard use, the kind of abuse the brand says it has proven in the harshest environments.
  • Cactus cooler reservoirs give the oil somewhere to go, which is the point of a reservoir shock on a truck that gets worked.
  • 7/8 in. shafts with redundant seals are meant to keep the oil in and the grit out through long stretches of rough ground.

Fitment Notes

Our fitment data lists this set for the 2011-2020 Ford F-150, Base and Raptor, with a 0-1.5 in. lift range. The part title reads 04-08 4WD Ford F-150, which is a different year span and calls out 4WD, so the two do not agree. [VERIFY: the title says 04-08 4WD while our data says 2011-2020; confirm your year, drivetrain and lift height against FOX's own application list before you order.] No exclusions are on file in our data beyond that year and lift range.

Install and Honest Talk

These are rear shocks with a reservoir and Dual Speed Compression adjustment, so plan the install around that: the old rear shocks come off, these go on, and the adjuster and reservoir need to end up somewhere you can reach and that nothing rubs against. The adjustment is the honest tradeoff here. FOX built these to be tuned for weight, terrain and speed, which means they are not a bolt-on-and-forget part. If you never touch the adjuster, you are paying for a range you are not using, and a wrong setting will feel worse than a plain shock, not better. They also only cover a 0-1.5 in. lift range, so a taller lift or a leveled truck outside that window is the wrong match for this part number.

What else you need: [VERIFY: matching front shocks, mounting bolts and hardware in the box, torque specs, reservoir clearance, whether anything else comes off the truck, and whether FOX publishes recommended compression settings as a starting point.]

No Robots. Just Car People.

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
