Product Information

Flowmaster's Outlaw cat-back for the 2015-2020 Ford F-150 is for the owner who wants the truck to sound aggressive from the curb while the cab stays at a moderate level. Part number 817726 is a bolt-on 409S stainless steel system with a Super 10 series muffler, and you pick whether the tips exit out the rear or out the sides.

Why Upgrade to the Outlaw Cat-Back

Per Flowmaster, here is what the Outlaw changes:

  • Aggressive sound outside the truck with a moderate level inside, so it announces itself at a stoplight without turning a long highway pull into a chore. The cabin claim is Flowmaster's, not ours, so expect more noise than stock either way.
  • A 3.00-inch mandrel-bent inlet tube feeding the Super 10 series muffler, then dual 2.50-inch mandrel-bent tailpipes out the back.
  • Large 4.00-inch tips in black ceramic coated stainless steel, which is the part everyone sees at the bumper, in black rather than bare metal.
  • Your choice of exit: out the rear under the bumper for the muscular look, or out the sides behind the rear tires. Flowmaster points anyone towing an RV, boat or trailer to the side exit.
  • Bolt-on 409S stainless steel construction, with all necessary parts and hardware included so the install can happen in your own driveway.

Fitment Notes

Fits 2015-2020 Ford F-150 (Base). Does not fit the F-150 Raptor. Flowmaster lists the system for all 2WD and 4WD trucks and all wheelbases, "except Standard Cab/Short Bed models" in Flowmaster's own words, and that is as specific as the maker gets about cab and bed. [VERIFY: engine coverage, since the title lists the 2.7L, 3.5L and 5.0L while Flowmaster's copy also lists the 3.3L and 3.5L TiVCT, and which cab and bed combinations Flowmaster means by Standard Cab/Short Bed. Confirm both against your truck before ordering.]

Install and Honest Talk

It is a cat-back, so the swap starts behind the catalytic converters and this system takes over from there. Flowmaster calls it a bolt-on with all necessary parts and hardware in the box, designed for an install you can do at home. Before you touch a wrench, settle the exit question: rear under the bumper, or sides behind the rear tires. If you tow, Flowmaster's own advice is the side exit, and that decision shapes how the truck looks from behind for as long as the system is on it.

Honest talk: aggressive exterior sound means the neighbors hear every cold start, and the moderate interior level is Flowmaster's description, not a promise of a stock-quiet cab. The 4.00-inch tips are black ceramic coated, so whether they suit what is already on the back of your truck is your call before you buy, not after. Flowmaster excludes "Standard Cab/Short Bed models", and which cab and bed combinations that covers is flagged under Fitment Notes. What else you need: Flowmaster says all necessary parts and hardware are included. [VERIFY: tools, whether a lift is needed, and whether the exit choice is made at order time or at install.]

No Robots. Just Car People.

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
