Product Information

This is an ARP head stud kit for the Coyote 5.0L, built for the 2011-2012 Ford Mustang GT and the 2012 Boss 302. It replaces the factory head bolts with studs.

Why Upgrade to ARP Head Studs

  • Studs thread into the block once and stay put. The heads then clamp down with nuts torqued onto the studs, a different clamping method than the factory head bolts.
  • [VERIFY: whether the factory head bolts on this engine are torque-to-yield and meant for one-time use, and the clamping-load benefit ARP claims over them. ARP's own kit documentation is needed to state either as fact.]

Fitment Notes

Fits the 2011-2012 Ford Mustang GT and the 2012 Boss 302. Does not fit the Mustang GT500 or V6.

Install and Honest Talk

This is engine-internal work, not a bolt-on: the heads come off to install these studs. Beyond the kit name, nothing else is stated here, so we don't have ARP's own installation notes or torque sequence to pass along. That's a real gap, and it's on you to close before you buy: don't assume this is a simple swap without checking what ARP's own instructions call for. What else you need: [VERIFY: torque spec, thread lubricant, whether new head gaskets or other hardware are required, and any tune implications: check ARP's included instructions.]

Buying parts for your Mustang or F-150 should not feel like homework. Too many stores bury you in a giant catalog, slap the same distributor description on every product, and leave you guessing whether it even fits.

We do it the other way. We carry the brands you already trust, we tell you what a part actually does, and we give you the truth about the tradeoffs before you spend a dollar. Drone on that exhaust. Ride quality on those springs. Whether you need a tune. The stuff the big catalogs leave out.
